Changes to Clinical System

The provider of our clinical system - Emis Health - is changing certain technical aspects of the way in which it delivers services to us.  This will not impact the delivery of services to patients but we wanted to let you know about the changes in case you have any questions.  Click her for more information

The practice has a Sue Ryder Community Navigator who visits every Friday morning to offer practical information and support for patients or their carers.

If you would like to see the Navigator or would like more information please ask at reception.

Prescription Delivery Service

We offer a prescription delivery service from the Stanton surgery for all registered patients. We are able to deliver to collection points at the post office in Hopton, Barningham and Garboldisham. If you would like more information regarding this service our Dispensary staff will be able to advise you - 01359 253701

Our Practice is committed to develop the delivery of better care to our patients utilising the Information Technology developed through and under the direction of NHS England. We currently use Summary Care Record, GP2GP Transfer and Patient Access Online for appointments, repeat medication requests and viewable summary care record. The Practice is committed to include detailed coded information as part of the Patient Access Online facility by 31st March 2016.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Update for patients

We are experiencing an extreme increase in workload following the coronavirus restrictions together with staff being off self-isolating – this clearly affects our ability to maintain our service. Please be patient with staff who are doing their very best.

In order for the team to take a break the surgery is closed between 1pm and 2pm.

In order to complete your orders please allow extra time when ordering where possible to enable our team to complete all requests.  Dispensary telephone requests can now only be made from 9am to 1pm each day. 

We are receiving very large numbers of requests for medication – much more than we would normally expect. Many requests are a long way ahead of their normal repeat date.  Please DO NOT order medication too soon and please do not stockpile.  We are unable to provide more than the normal month’s supply. Patients who are ordering too much or too early are putting the health of others at risk as this is affecting suppliers’ ability to provide adequate stocks for all. 

Please do not ask for prescriptions that have not been prescribed for a long while.  We can only provide your regular medication. 

If you are able to order online it is much appreciated - our staff shortages mean that answering the phone to take medication requests will take them away from completing the orders.

We are endeavouring to restrict the number of patients visiting the surgery to minimise risk to other patients and the team.  If you have an urgent problem you will be offered a telephone triage appointment with a doctor.  They will determine if a face to face appointment is required and arrange if appropriate.  Non urgent routine checks will be cancelled to minimise the chance of infection to yourself and others.

If you, or a member of your household, have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID 19) such as a high temperature and a new persistent cough – please stay at home and manage your illness there.  The household should remain in isolation for 14 days.  If you are getting worse you should contact 111 – DO NOT COME TO THE SURGERY

We have enabled the prescription ordering module on our integrated online service so that our patients can access their medical records, book/cancel GP appointments and order repeat medications all from ONE system.

Our dispensing team will provide you with the details on how to use the new system. Please bring a piece of photo ID with you to enable us to confirm your identity when setting up your account. This is because the new system is directly linked to your medical record and the Practice must take necessary steps to ensure that access is being given to the correct person for data protection reasons.

red_pills_bottleMedicines are supplied from the surgery for patients living more than one mile from a pharmacy. We cannot make up prescriptions issued elsewhere except from a dentist or the hospital and then only for patients registered at the practice.

Payment must be cash or cheque backed by a cheque guarantee card.

Repeat Prescriptions

We have a computerised prescribing system and your regular medication is printed on the slip given to you with your repeat medication. We require 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions excluding Saturdays and Sundays and a 28 day supply is issued.

You can request a repeat directly from the website or present your repeat prescription side slip in person or by post. You can contact the Dispensary team on 01359 253701, however, they are unable to take calls between 12:30 - 2:30pm. Finally you may subscribe to the repeat prescribing scheme. 

Sometimes you will be asked to see a doctor or nurse before any more repeat prescriptions are given. This is to ensure that the medication is still the right one for you. If you have difficulty collecting your medicines from the surgery we are able to leave your medication for collection at village pick up points in exceptional circumstances.
